So I’m happy to report that I recently graduated with my biology degree! I am so passionate about science that I actively search out anything that has to do with science. I was recently searching for new creative ways to start teaching my son about science and came across the GIANTmicrobes website. I instantly became fascinated with their website. GIANTmicrobes actually takes diseases, cells and bodily functions to a whole new and cute level. They actually turn these horrible, gross, interesting and very important things into cute cuddly stuffed dolls. With my passion for everything science I just had to get my hands on one of these adorable cells. I am happy to say that I got my hands on a brain cell.
When I pulled it out the box my son looked at it and asked, “Mom what is that”. I was already so happy with the response, it was already doing what I wanted it to do, which was to invoke thought and provide a new learning experience. The brain cell came with a tag that provided a real image of a neuron and a card packed with brain cell facts. I really enjoyed speaking to my son about our brains and cells and all the bodily functions that the brain controls. It was great to have a fun character to help with the visualization. He of course enjoyed playing with his brain cell and even brought it in for show and tell. It is soft and cuddly and truly represents the neuron.
