How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Air Fryer Chicken Wings
From Thawed or Frozen Chicken

I absolutely love chicken wings and nothing could be simpler and more delicious than making them at home in your Air Fryer.

I recently purchased an air fryer for my family of 5 to make healthier foods. We do most of our cooking at home and also handle multiple food allergies. Cooking every meal at home can be very exhausting and time consuming. We bake a lot of our food. If you think about it baking can become time consuming: pre-heat oven, find the pan, spray or get foil, bake item, pull out, let cool, remember to turn off oven etc.... you get it, it's a process. There are also some items we do like fried and I hated using a traditional fryer.. all that oil was gross and a hassle to deal with. Who wants to clean out and dispose of disgusting oil all the time... not me! And thankfully I don't have to anymore. We love that the air fryer is super quick, not pre heating necessary. And clean up is a breeze with only one fry basket to clean. No oil!!

Since we have a family of 5 I chose to purchase a larger air fryer to accommodate the amount of food we need per meal. I went with the Power Air Fryer XL 5.3 Quart. They do have smaller air fryers if you are preparing food for less people.
So now that you have your air fryer, lets dive right in to making our chicken wings. This recipe calls for thawed chicken wings. Don't fret if you forgot to thaw your meat I have instructions for frozen wings to!

Ingredients:
12-15 Chicken Wings or Drumettes (thawed)
1/2 Cup of Buffalo or BBQ Sauce

Directions:

  • Plug in your Power Air Fryer
  • Place raw chicken (make sure they are thawed) into air fryer basket
  • Press the Power Button
  • Adjust cooking time to 25 minutes
  • Adjust temperature to 400
  • Half way through the cooking time flip chicken over (simply pull out fryer basket, flip wings and slide basket back into fryer, time will continue).
  • When finished, toss wings with desired sauce or eat plain
  • Optional: Place sauced wings back into air fryer for an additional 5-8 minutes at 400 or until desired crispiness.
*If your chicken wings are still frozen follow these directions:

  • Adjust cooking time to 10 minutes
  • Adjust temperature to 350
  • After 10 minutes at 350 you will have to change to temperature and cook time.

Serve chicken wings with celery and/or carrot sticks and a side of dipping sauce.

Interested in a smaller air fryer check out the Power Air Fryer XL (3.4 QT Deluxe).

Cleaning the Air Fryer is also very quick and easy. We just use warm water, gentle dish soap and our awesome dish scrubby (rough enough to get the stuck on pieces but gentle enough not to scratch the basket).
