Tips 4: Making your own homemade instruments for kids.
Making homemade instruments is a great way for the whole family to come together. This week I will teach you how to make homemade guitars. All you need is a shoebox and different size rubber bands. I always save shoeboxes, because there is an unlimited amount of things you can do with them.
Find any size shoe box (or other small cardboard box) and wrap about 6 rubber bands around it width wise. We used some thick rubber bands and skinny ones to make different sounds.
We only spent $0.67 on this activity because we didn't have enough rubber bands at home. But if you have rubber bands available this activity is FREE. Hint: Stick some white paper around the shoebox and have your kids color and decorate their guitars first. We ended up making 3 guitars and played songs as a family. It was so much fun... all of us were laughing and having a good time!
